Photos from The Drop NYC 2009

What a success! The sun came out after a little city washing and the people turned out by the hundreds.

The very large indoor part of the festival consisted of a grand gallery space with sculptures, furniture, live performance art, video art, Yoko Ono’s wishing tree where you can hang your own wish on and an Areaware shop full of design gifts and goodies. More importantly, the food vendors were: crepes stand, Calexico truck (the best), Van Leeuwen ice cream truck, Rickshaw Dumpling truck.

The Party Under The High Line went underway with Truth and Soul’s Jeff Dynamite and Halcyon taking the stage. From the sitings of Chuck Close to an impromptu set by DJ Spooky in the VIP Lounge, the event was a perfect way to celebrate the beginning of fall and the new season for the Chelsea art galleries.
