Always add dijon mustard to split pea soup. It gives even the saddest, wateriest canned split pea soup a hearty gourmet tanginess that is worthy of pairing with a nice pinot grigio.  I love split pea soup- it’s low/non-fat, high in fiber, warms your soul and resembles baby food (i love mushy foods.)
